Syracuse & Nebraska City Library Hosts Digitization of Newspapers

An Advantage Preservation project was featured in the Nebraska City News-Press yesterday, highlighting recently completed digitization and access to Syracuse newspapers.

The Syracuse Library is working with the Nebraska City Library to fund a project that would make all Otoe County newspapers fully searchable and easily accessible online at

“Currently, the digitalized papers, date back to the 1857 Nebraska News. The first Syracuse newspaper is the Syracuse Herald printed from 1888 to 1898. The digitalized Syracuse and Nebraska City newspapers continue thorough 2016.”

“The Syracuse Library Foundation is thrilled to be able to contribute to community-wide education and research.”
