At Advantage Preservation we work directly with libraries and historical societies to ensure the preservation of and digital access to historical newspapers. A list of our current Nebraska library collections can be found below. There are over 25 different collections for the Cornhusker state and counting!

At Advantage, we have embraced the idea that preserving history is a shared responsibility. We partner with local community publishers, libraries, and other like-minded individuals to make local content more accessible, now and in the future.

Learn More About The Community History Archives

The Community History Archives are user friendly, and easy to learn. We focused on making it as simple as possible, so that everyone…from students to grandparents (and everyone in between) can browse, search, view, clip and share articles, headlines, pages, and stories recorded in the pages of the community newspaper.. Just type a search and hit “enter” or browse to a specific year, month, day or page in any (or all) publications contained in the archive. Advantage partners with communities across the United States, to archive & provide practical digital access to local historical content in print, that would otherwise be lost to the erosion of time.

Advantage Archives is much more than an online repository of historical content. We are dedicated to the preservation and increased accessibility of historical newspaper content. Working with over 700 libraries and newspaper publishers, Advantage carefully captures the “first draft of history” to microfilm in accordance to ANSI/AIIM standards for 500-year preservation. In addition our Community History Archives provide online access to that content as an enhancement to the preservation process, making that valuable content more easily accessible.  In short: We preserve the past to ensure its future.

It has been very rewarding working with the communities across Nebraska, and I have been incredibly  impressed  by their passion for unlocking the Nebraska’s amazing history that was published in the newspapers and other printed materials for more than 150 years. I think it is fantastic that this history is being made so easily accessible, free, and open to anyone that wants to explore ‘history as it happened’.

“Seward and Seward County Nebraska both turn 150 years old in 2017, so the Seward Memorial Library undertook a Sesquicentennial project to film and digitize all county papers, a monumental project for a library our size that totaled over $30,000! Thanks to the fantastic service provided by Advantage Preservation, we are already close to achieving our goal. e to individuals and groups who are interested in donating to preserving our local history and it is just fun to browse old local newspapers. Thank you for all you do to make us look good!”

“Michelle was easy to work with during the time we were purchasing our digital material. She was always pleasant to talk to and always willing answer any questions I had during that time. I feel she went up and beyond what most sales people do. We are very pleased with the product and customer service we received. Thank you!

“You’ve given us wonderful fund-raising ideas but even more importantly, you’ve provide a fantastic product that folks in Seward rave about. Being able to search our newspaper archives from home has generated so many compliments, especially in this year of historical significance, that I’m sorry we didn’t undertake this project years ago! It is easy to demonstrate its value to individuals and groups who are interested in donating to preserving our local history and it is just fun to browse old local newspapers.
