In New England, our mission to provide free access to the region’s rich history takes on a special significance. Through partnerships with local historical societies, academic institutions, and community organizations, we focus on digitizing the earliest accounts of American history in our partner’s collections of newspapers, photos, microfilms, and historic documents.
These efforts make it possible to explore the diverse narratives that have shaped New England, from its colonial past to its ongoing role in American history and beyond. By making these resources available online, we aim to connect people with the stories and events that have defined this region and America as a nation, ensuring they are preserved for future generations and easily accessible for the current one.
Our work in New England also brings to light the human stories behind the historical facts. Our articles and posts delve into the partnerships that make history available, and we provide updates on our ongoing projects and newly completed digital archives. By sharing these stories, we hope to inspire a greater appreciation for New England’s history and encourage efforts to preserve and provide practical access to its unique heritage.
